The Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (UFST) is looking for two Product Owners for the Housing Program.
One Product Owner will work closely with a system owner, so this role focuses on the business perspective, where you will largely need to be development-oriented.
The other Product Owner has an interest in and understanding of the technical aspect and can engage in dialogue with testers and architects on the program. This Product Owner has an understanding of the program’s infrastructure and uses their network to achieve the best possible task resolution.
What both positions have in common is that you will become part of a busy team. You will work on the development of a new IT system for the housing program. The IT system will be used to calculate land tax and coverage charges, developed in Java, or a loan and collection system developed on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform. You will be responsible for handling technical clarifications and ensuring that the IT system is adapted to other components of the Housing Program and the current IT infrastructure. Together with the team’s business analysts and business specialists from the Danish Valuation and Tax Agency, you will work together to break down business requirements into implementable specifications. In addition, you will work closely with the supplier’s Product Owner and team, with a focus on development.
You will work closely with the supplier’s Product Owner, specifying and managing the backlog together with the development team. You may also be responsible for the business side of the IT system. Here, you will work in a combined role involving technical clarifications and development orientation.
You will have primary contact with two internal teams of 8-12 people each, as well as contact with two supplier teams of 15-25 people each.
As Product Owner, you will also take part in an exciting and, at the same time, complex change process, contributing both independently and collaboratively to a change that will benefit society as a whole. In addition, this role offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to influence your own tasks.
As Product Owner, your tasks will include:
- Identifying and mapping new requirements for the solution and translating these into easily understandable descriptions that the developers on the team can work with
- Continuously aligning expectations and clarifying stakeholder needs
- Providing the team with the necessary knowledge and sparring so that stakeholder requirements can be translated into usable business solutions
- Owning the backlog and ensuring correct prioritization together with the supplier responsible for delivery
Requirements
You are expected to have between 1-5 years of experience from a similar position in a larger unit in the public or private sector. This depends on previous work tasks and their relevance to this role. There are no certification requirements.
The candidate must, as a minimum, have:
- Experience with parts of the Product Owner role
- Experience delivering high-quality solutions
- Extensive experience collaborating across the entire organization and/or across projects
In addition, it is an advantage, but not a requirement, if the candidate has:
- Experience with Java and the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform
- Experience with agile development
