The Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (UFST) is part of the Ministry of Taxation group, which collaborates with other units within the group. UFST has around 1,700 employees and offices in Copenhagen, Middelfart, and Aalborg. UFST develops, operates, and maintains new and existing IT systems so that they are stable, secure, and cost-effective. It places great emphasis on creating solutions that are data- and analysis-driven, that create value for the Danish Tax Administration, and that support taxes and duties being paid correctly and on time. UFST is responsible for driving IT development projects and for ensuring a transparent basis for IT prioritization across the Danish Tax Administration, just as it is the agency’s task to modernize, reduce technical debt, and make optimal use of the market. At UFST, employees are engaged and professionally competent. They work professionally in a strong professional community across the agency and the Tax Administration to succeed in their socially critical task. They place emphasis on execution capability and believe that a high professional level is the starting point for thinking anew, finding solutions, and delivering high-quality results that ensure modern and stable solutions.

This position is based in the office for EEE Systems and Development 3.

The Department

The department consists of 25 employees spread across 3 teams, which manage the portfolio for Business, eCapital and eIncome systems at the Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (UFST), and its purpose is to ensure the operation, development, and maintenance of the IT systems related to tax-relevant data, both nationally and internationally. In this role, you will join a team of innovative colleagues in an automated, modern DevOps environment with end-to-end services, where the business domain is the focal point. This involves full life-cycle product development with periods of both new development, further development, and operations, which together elevate the team’s knowledge and development to an even higher level. Development takes place in iterations based on SCRUM and SAFe, with daily standups, ongoing evaluations, and deliveries in many continuous releases. The team works closely together and also makes use of pair programming.

UFST’s employees are professionally competent and specialized, while also able to work closely with other disciplines across the Ministry of Taxation. There is also a strong belief that, through a strong professional community across the various fields, they can succeed in the extensive and complex task they have.

The Position

As Full Stack Developer in the office “EEE Systems and Development 3,” you will play a decisive role in the modernization of IT systems for the Danish Tax Administration, with a focus on in-house development. In this role, you will primarily work on the backend with Java and/or Groovy, including test frameworks such as Geb/Spock, combined with frontend JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or Vue.js / TypeScript. In terms of technology, you will work with REST and web services, databases (PostgreSQL), Unix/Linux, containers (Docker), open source on Jenkins, as well as Git and GitHub.

In this role you will, among other things, work closely with skilled and qualified developers, testers, scrum masters, and product owners to implement features and enablers for use by banks, mortgage credit institutions, and international authorities with which information is exchanged. In addition, this role gives you ample opportunity to gain influence and develop, as UFST is very keen to listen to your good ideas and innovative mindset.

Together with you, it is UFST’s ambition to digitalize solutions for the automatic exchange of information globally to prevent tax evasion, develop solutions for reporting financial account information from third parties, support simple and correct tax assessment and collection, and facilitate effective control.
