The Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (UFST) is looking for a Senior Developer for the department for Business, eCapital and eIncome systems.

About UFST

UFST is part of the Ministry of Taxation group, which collaborates with other units within the group. UFST has 1,800 employees across offices in Copenhagen, Middelfart, and Aalborg. The Danish Tax Administration, an authority under the Ministry of Taxation, is undergoing a historic transformation of core IT systems across the group’s many business areas, as well as developing new systems for new business needs, partly as a result of EU requirements. UFST is therefore growing and needs employees who can strengthen its internal execution capacity for operations, further development, and development in collaboration with a range of partners.

About the Department

The department for Business, eCapital and eIncome systems is responsible for ensuring the operation, development, and maintenance of the IT systems related to tax-relevant data, both nationally and internationally. The team consists of a number of developers in an automated, modern DevOps environment with end-to-end services, where the business domain is the focal point. This involves full life-cycle product development with periods of both development, further development, and operations, which together elevate knowledge and development to an even higher level. In the role of Senior Developer, there are good opportunities to influence the projects being worked on and to challenge the boundaries of public sector IT. There is also the opportunity for personal skills development and for building a career within the organization as a whole. In addition to larger IT development projects, the team also works on smaller development and improvement sprints. In these sprints, you dive into business needs and combine them with technology to design new solutions to difficult problems.

About the Position

As Senior Developer in “EEE Systems and Development 2,” you will play a decisive role in the modernization of IT systems for the Danish Tax Administration, with a focus on in-house development. Development takes place in iterations based on SCRUM and SAFe, with daily standups, ongoing evaluations, and deliveries in many continuous releases. New technologies are used, including the following:

  • Test-driven development (TDD)
  • DevOps
  • Continuous Integration/Delivery and Release on Demand
  • A very high level of test automation
  • Pair programming, peer code review
  • Agile tools, including Jira and Confluence

Working with a cross-disciplinary agile team of other skilled developers, technical testers, designers, business analysts, scrum masters, and product owners, you will, as Senior Developer, implement features and enablers for use on sharing platforms such as Airbnb, dansommer, and others.

As Senior Developer, your primary areas of responsibility will be to:

  • Analyze complex issues and prepare well-functioning solutions for them
  • Develop applications that support the needs of the Danish Tax Administration
  • Contribute to the preparation of user stories, tasks, and associated acceptance criteria
  • Ensure that deliverables are of high quality via automated tests
  • Support the rest of the team’s developers so that the quality of deliverables continuously improves
  • Be able to create solutions that work from both a customer perspective and for users at the Danish Tax Agency

As Senior Developer, you will fill the role of a professional figurehead. You will be a professional sparring partner for some of the less experienced developers, sharing advice and knowledge to help solve the problems they seek guidance on.

Requirements
